Our Experience In our conversation with the Lush employees we found that Lush Cosmetics puts it's reputation first. They have launched a campaign called #BeCrueltyFree to raise awareness about animal testing in the cosmetics industry. They have a great line of innovative products that are free of animal testing. Not only do they have unique products, but it was evident that their employees were really excited to be working for Lush Cosmetics. Their employees were happy to tell us about how great this company treats it's employees and customers. Upon walking into the store, the employees were very enthusiastic about introducing us to their new line of products to promote their cruelty free campaign. The store had plenty of samples and sinks around to allow customers to really try and interact with the product before buying. It is easy to see why Lush Cosmetics is doing so well with today's generation.
Things That Matter to a New Generation 1)Customer Service:The employees at Lush were very helpful in showing their new products and in helping with trying the samples in store. They really spent time with customers to help find each customer the right product for them. Their website is also very easy to navigate and gives simple instructions on how to use each product making it very easy to try different types of products. 2)Unique Products: Lush has a wide range of products that cover shower and bath products, makeup, hair products, lotions and more. They have products that can't be found in many other places such as bath bombs, shampoo bars, and more. All of their products are handmade and are made of natural ingredients making their products some of the freshest cosmetics products in the industry. Their products also have fun designs and great packaging that really appeals to the customers. 3)Great Ethics:The #BeCrueltyFree campaign is just an example of how Lush really cares about the quality of the product they sell to their customers. They have a whole team dedicated to researching new sellers where they can source their ingredients from to make sure the ingredients are up to their standard. They also do not test on animals and spend money on charities to stop animal testing, prevent ocean pollution, and stand up for human rights. Not only do they treat the customers very well but their employees spoke very highly of their treatment within the company. This is a family owned company that works very hard to include all employees in their team. 4)Branding: Lush does a really good job at making their products appealing to customers. They come out with new themed lines and campaigns to boost their product popularity. They also brand themselves as a very clean wholesome company that cares about the environment and the health of their customers. 5)Store experience: The Lush Cosmetics store is not just another ordinary store. When you walk by the store, it is very hard to just pass by without walking in. There are signs out front and when you walk in the whole store smells of perfumes and soaps. They put all of their products out on display and there are plenty of samples that customers can use to try out their products. They have sinks and mirrors to help try out their products. They made the store a fun place that people want to spend time in.
How Can These Be Used By Other Companies Just as Lush has done, other companies should prioritize brand reputation. While Lush has a very unique product, their brand reputation has created a very loyal customer base and has made it stand out from other cosmetic company competitors. Their branding has turned simple cosmetics products into something fun and exciting for customers. And as one of the Lush employees really emphasized, they make their employees and customers feel welcomed and a part of something. All of these things together have helped create the reputation and brand that is Lush Cosmetics. These small details are what make them very successful in this generation. Besides just having a unique product a new company should focus on branding themselves in a way that will make them stand out from the competitors just as Lush Cosmetics has done.
